Redditch care home held groovy 60s themed open day

Staff and residents at Brambles Residential Care Home in Headless Cross enjoyed a swinging 60s themed open day.

The care home, in Birchfield Road, held the event on Friday, June 19 to mark National Care Home Open Day.

During the groovy occasion a range of family-fun entertainment was put on with live 60s themed music, face painting, stalls, a buffet and sangria for the adults.

Staff at the home donned flower power prints and flares for the occasion and cuddly creatures from Redditch’s Small Animal Sanctuary were welcomed into the home for the day.

Resident Betty Hanks, aged 88, said: “The open day has been wonderful and I really enjoyed the flower power theme - everyone went to a lot of trouble and I even had my face painted with flowers to look the part.

“I really enjoyed people from the community coming in and supporting our home.”
